Whenever we would think of Lawn Tennis in India, the first name to come to our minds would be of Leander Paes. In a time when people simply wouldn't care at all about any sport but cricket, it is Leander Paes who's contributed immensely in the growth of lawn tennis not just in India, but also in the minds of the Indian people. With emerging players like Addhayan and Aditya Deuskar coming up in IIT Delhi who aren't scared of anyone when they're at the court. What is important for any Lawn Tennis enthusiast in the campus is to learn how to be humble, is to learn how to never get ahead of themselves, is to learn how to become great from good. We've known about Leander Paes from the surface from the time we were all kids, let's delve a little deeper. Let's become a little better!
Here's BSA presenting to you Leander Paes as the next entry in the KnowYourStar series. Cheers!
"I remember going to the tennis courts on the second day of college and thinking about how I'll be spending a lot of time playing on them through my 4 years here. I have been immensely involved with the BSA throughout my time here at IIT and saying that it has given and taught me a lot would do grave injustice to how important it has been to me.
Despite the fact that our performances at the inter-iits haven't lived up to the expectations, I really hope we live up to our potential in the years to come and contribute to the golden era of sports here at IITD which is just about getting started."
"Even though we couldn't perform as good as we had expected this year due to some issues in the team, we are determined to get gold in the coming years at Inter IIT and pay back our officials in the BSA and the IITD family by making them proud."
